BLOOMINGTON, MN — Giordano's, the Chicago pizzeria known for its stuffed deep-dish pies, will open its second Minnesota location inside Mall of America on July 16, the company announced.

It will introduce Giordano's stuffed deep-dish pizza, along with tavern-style and thin-crust options, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, desserts and beverages, to the millions of annual visitors who pass through the mall.

The Mall of America restaurant will include exclusive retail merchandise, a dedicated grab-and-go area and the company's first self-service ordering kiosks, according to Giordano's.

"Following the incredible response to our recent Washington, D.C. opening, we're excited to continue our growth by bringing Giordano's to Mall of America," Giordano's CEO Nick Scarpino said in a statement. He said the location will let the company introduce its pizza to visitors from around the world while continuing to serve its Minnesota customer base.

The opening is expected to create approximately 80 jobs across management, hospitality, kitchen operations and support roles, the company said.

Giordano's was founded in Chicago in 1974 by brothers Efren and Joseph Boglio, who based the recipe on their mother's traditional Italian dish. The chain now operates nearly 60 locations across nine states.
