Chick-fil-A To Open Mall Of America Location This Fall

TWIN CITIES, MN — Franchise owner Alex Wilson will bring Chick-fil-A to the country’s largest shopping and entertainment destination when he opens a restaurant inside the Mall of America on Oct. 5. The grand opening events at 354 Central Parkway will get underway at 9:30 p.m., Oct. 4. The company said a "family-friendly overnight" First 100 party will pop up outside the North entrance parking lot the night before the grand opening as guests try to be one of the first 100 adults when the restaurant opens Oct. 5 to win a year of free Chick-fil-A meals.

The local event is open to guests residing in specific zip codes surrounding the restaurant. A list of eligible zip codes and rules can be found here.

The Chick-fil-A First 100

A tradition going back more than 13 years, the company said the Chick-fil-A’s First 100 celebration has given away more than $31 million in free food through 2016 and continues to be the chain’s signature grand opening event.

If more than 100 people are onsite when the line officially opens at 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 4, a drawing will be held to randomly select the First 100. Those chosen will be required to camp out until the grand opening in order to secure their spot. While tents are not permitted for this opening, participants are welcome to bring chairs and blankets.

Restaurant Details

• The 1,673-square-foot Mall of America Chick-fil-A restaurant is located in the Culinary on North food court and features:
• Specific Chick-fil-A One mobile ordering pickup counter, dining areas on either side that seats 26 and free Wi-Fi.
• Lunch and dinner menu options will be open from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Chick-fil-A locations are closed on Sunday to provide a day of rest and time with family and friends for team members, according to the company.

Chick-fil-A in Minnesota

The Mall of America Chick-fil-A restaurant becomes the 11th Chick-fil-A location within 25 miles of Minneapolis and the second of three to open in the metro area this year. A stand-alone restaurant opened in Chanhassen this summer and the Mall of America opening will be followed on Oct. 19 by a new stand-alone Chick-fil-A restaurant opening in Maplewood.

Chick-fil-A first opened in the state in October 2013 in Maple Grove and Coon Rapids followed a few weeks later by locations in Bloomington and Apple Valley.

A total of 117 new Chick-fil-A locations are expected to open this year across the country, according to a news release from the company.
