Deceased Pilot Of Crashed Plane Identified As Richfield Man
The plane crashed near a wooded area in the Resurrection Life Church parking lot in Eden Prairie.

The pilot of a small plane that crashed at a Eden Prairie church parking lot Wednesday has been identified as a 77-year-old Richfield man. Philip Anthony Schaffer died of multiple blunt force injuries in the crash, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner announced.
Shortly after takeoff from Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie, Schaffer reported a fire onboard the single-engine aircraft. The plane crashed near a wooded area in the Resurrection Life Church parking lot on Glory Lane.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will conduct a complete investigation of the crash.
