Pedestrian, 16, Killed In Richfield On Cedar Avenue

The teen was hospitalized and died the following day.

RICHFIELD, MN — A 16-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Richfield last week. Anabel Jazmin Gonzalez Rojas died complications of multiple blunt force injuries, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled.

The crash happened just after 11 a.m. on Nov. 23 at 68th Street and Cedar Avenue, according to officials. She died at Hennepin Healthcare the following day.

A GoFundMe page was established to raise funds for Anabel's mother.

"Ines Rojas Rivera has always put others first and helped out people whenever possible," the page reads. "She now needs our help in getting her beloved daughter back to Ecuador for a proper burial."

A funeral for Anabel will be held Thursday, Dec. 6. at St. Stevens Catholic Church in Minneapolis at 12 p.m., according to her obituary.
