The 23rd annual Richfield Citizen Police Academy starts Thursday, Sept. 15 and continues every Thursday through Oct. 13, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.   The deadline to register is September 2, 2016, according to a news release.   This is a free, 15-hour, 5-week course designed to give residents a working knowledge of the operations and responsibilities of the Richfield police. It is also an opportunity to meet Richfield police officers.   Topics discussed include:  <ul><li>Administrative Overview </li><li>Patrol Procedures</li><li>Police Communications</li><li>Criminal Investigations </li><li>Traffic Enforcement</li><li>Tour of Police Facilities</li><li>Hennepin County Crime Lab and more </li></ul>Any person who is at least 18 years old and lives or owns a business in Richfield may attend the academy. There are no physical qualifications necessary and mandatory attendance of all sessions is not required.
