Richfield Citizen Police Academy Begins in September

The course is designed to give residents a working knowledge of the operations and responsibilities of the Richfield police.

The 23rd annual Richfield Citizen Police Academy starts Thursday, Sept. 15 and continues every Thursday through Oct. 13, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

The deadline to register is September 2, 2016, according to a news release.

This is a free, 15-hour, 5-week course designed to give residents a working knowledge of the operations and responsibilities of the Richfield police. It is also an opportunity to meet Richfield police officers.

Any person who is at least 18 years old and lives or owns a business in Richfield may attend the academy. There are no physical qualifications necessary and mandatory attendance of all sessions is not required. A criminal history check will be conducted on all applicants.
