The "Best Burb" campaign will include 51 radio advertisements, 60 social media posts, and even a billboard on I-494.

RICHFIELD, MN — In an effort to get the word out about all Richfield has to offer, the city's tourism promotion board is launching an extensive marketing campaign. The "Best Burb" campaign will take place from Aug. 23 through Sept. 21.

"With approximately two million patrons heading to and from the state fair, we thought it was an appropriate time to promote all the great things Richfield has to offer," Richfield Tourism Promotion Board President Gordon Vizecky said in a statement.

"Over the next month, we will be utilizing everything from billboards to social media to get the word out about the Twin Cities’ best suburb."

The campaign aims to leverage many of the accolades bestowed on Richfield over the past year, such as being named the hottest housing market by the Star Tribune two years running, as well as the city being named the best suburb by City Pages this spring.

The "Best Burb" campaign will include 51 radio advertisements, 60 social media posts, four blog posts, a quarter page advertisement in City Pages, online ad campaign, and an I-494 billboard.

The tourism board says it's confident the campaign will spur interest in Richfield and increase visits to the city’s hotels, restaurants and other commercial entities.

"I have been a resident of Richfield for decades and know what a special place it is, firsthand. I have heard it called many things, but the one that stands out most is 'best-kept secret,'" said Mayor Pat Elliott.
