• High-speed Collision Injures Driver On South Broadway Avenue (kroc.com) — A serious June crash at South Broadway Avenue and 14th Street SE, by the Crossroads Shopping Center, left a Rochester driver with significant injuries and has now led to criminal charges. Prosecutors say a 20-year-old Rochester man was speeding and driving erratically before allegedly cutting across lanes into the shopping center entrance, where his vehicle collided with the victim's car and overturned it into a ditch.

• 2026 Fall Seminar (mn.gov) — Building officials, inspectors, and licensed plumbers in Rochester can earn seven continuing-education credits at a Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry fall seminar on Sept. 30 at Willow Creek Golf Course. The full-day session will cover key changes to the Minnesota State Building Code, including fire and smoke protection, means of egress, plumbing do's and don'ts, and radon provisions, with lunch included in the $125 fee.

• ASK A TROOPER: Slow moving emblem (southernminn.com) — Minnesota drivers using slow-moving vehicle emblems are reminded these reflective triangles are only legal on vehicles designed for 35 mph or less, like farm equipment, animal-drawn rigs, and certain construction machinery. A State Patrol trooper explains proper placement, visibility requirements, and exceptions, and invites traffic-law questions by email or mail to the Minnesota State Patrol office on 48th Street NW in Rochester.
