On Tap For Pour Decisions Brewery: Creation of Roseville "Taproom Liquor License"?

The Roseville Council will hold a hearing on July 16.

The Roseville Council will hold a public hearing on July 16 on whether to create a so-called β€œtaproom” liquor license that would allow Pour Decisions Brewery to sell pints and growlers from their 1744 Terrace Drive location.

The new on-sale category would exempt the brewery from a food sale requirement, said Chris Miller, the city’s finance director.

β€œEvery brewery can have a relatively small taproom,” Miller said. β€œThe difference is that you can charge them for tastes.”

Kristen England, Pour Decisions’ co-founder, said the brewery would likely open its 22-seat taproom from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

β€œIt’s basically an opportunity for us to increase our business and make beers that we wouldn’t be able to put in big production,” England said.

B.J. Haun, the brewery’s other co-founder, said he wanted the taproom to be community friendly and non-disruptive, the reason for the early close time.

β€œWe don’t want to run a bar or nightclub,” Haun said.
