Featured Blog of The Week: Coffee with a Famous Person
What would it be like to have a cup of coffee with a famous and important person?

So I have a question for you.... if you could sit down and have a cup of coffee with anyone past or present who would you choose?
My guess is some of us would want to sit down with a famous person, a celebrity, a sports star? Others might choose an important leader like a past president, CEO or king? Some of us might rather sit down with a loved one, or try to repair an estranged relationship or reconnect with someone from our past. Whoever it might be, it's an interesting question worthy of some contemplation.
I am always eager to learn so I'd probably like to sit down with someone I could ask questions of. One of my favorite things to do as a pastor is sit down with people and hear thier stories. I learn so much, especially from those who've lived longer or experienced different things than I have.

Well, this summer at Grace Church Roseville -- we decided to use this concept as an idea for a message series. We asked ourselves, what would it be like to sit down with someone from the time of the Bible.
Someone from the Old Testament who had some interesting experiences. We're calling this series: "Coffee with the Old Testament" and so far we've "sat down for some Caribou" with Moses and Samson. The premise is that each week the message of the morning would be answering this question: if I could sit down and ask a person from the Bible to share with me a life lesson or two that they've learned, what would they tell me?

Still scheduled this summer: Coffee with Josiah (a guy who became a king at age 8!); Joseph (a guy sold into slavery by his brothers and went on to be 2nd in command in Egypt); Abraham (the father of the nation of Israel & sojourner for God) and Esther (a queen of a pagan nation at a critical time in history).
Grace is open to anyone and presents upbeat, relevant music with solid teaching from the Bible.
Join us for one of these cups of coffee with a real person from history this Sunday! Our worship gatherings are at 9 or 10:45am (both identical) and you can watch/listen online anytime at http://www.extendgrace.org
