Briefing: Roseville Council Interviews Citizens for Three-Year Commission Positions
A roundup of stories from this week's City Council meeting.
Rosevilleβs city council members assumed the scrutinizing gaze of human resource officials Monday evening as the council interviewed six citizens applying for vacant seats on four of the cityβs standing advisory commissions.
Four commissionsβEthics, Parks and Recreation, Police Civil Services and the Planning Commissionβhave vacancies for the three-year appointment.
There were no applicants for the Police Civil Services commission, though one applicant for the Ethics commission, Gerald Olsen, indicated he would accept a seat on the commission.
The council will appoint members to the commissions at its March 19 meeting, and terms will run from April 1 through March 31, 2015.
Along with Olsen, the applicants for city commission positions were Nancy OβBrien, Nicholas Boulton, Nolan Wall, Austin Anderson, Shannon Cunningham, Robert Murphy and David Pitt.
Here is a round up of some other items that came up at this week's Council meeting:
- The council discussed sewer backups and city liability following a presentation by the League of Minnesota City Insurance Trust.
- The council voted unanimously to award a contract for engineering services for an update to the cityβs comprehensive surface water management plan.
- The council discussed the next steps for public officials who have not yet submitted a disclosure of financial interest document to the city.
