Roseville Council Briefing: Water Management Organization Makes Pitch for More Funds

The Grass Lake Water Management Organization (GLWMO) recommended to Rosevilleβs city council on Monday that it receive an increase in funding from $37,000 to $150,000.
The organization, which is jointly funded by Roseville and Shoreview, is tasked with protecting city water and stormwater quality through management of the citiesβ watersheds. The council has takenΒ the request under advisement.
Members of the GLWMO said they needed to overhaul the organizationβs structure in order to fulfill state requirements for water quality, and suggested instituting a stormwater utility fee to finance the organization.
InΒ other action, the council:
- Awarded bid for waste removal from City of Roseville Public Facilities.
- Adopted a resolution providing for PERA pension benefits for a part-time firefighter,
- Renewed Joint Powers Agreement to continue to provide Geographic Information System services to the city of North St. Paul.
- Approve amendment and extension for Metropolitan Councilβs Livable Communities Demonstration Account Grant for Sienna Green Phase II.
