Cretin-Derham Hall Eliminates Roseville In Baseball Playoffs

Cretin-Derham Hall brought an end to the Roseville baseball team's spring campaign by defeating the Raiders, 7-4, in an elimination game of the one-loss bracket in the Section 4AAA Tournament at Midway Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Sam Podobinski drove home Cory Strecker with an RBI single to give Roseville its lone lead of the game, 1-0, in the bottom of the third inning.

However, Cretin-Derham bounced back to tie the contest in the top of the fourth and took the lead in the sixth. What had been a pitcher's duel turned into a score-fest over the final two frames before the Raiders came up three runs short in the final tally.

Roseville concluded this spring with a 12-12 record.
