Press release from SCVNGR.
Looking for a new car? Minneapolis locals now have a new way of finding one, and keeping it. On Saturday, October 22 2011, hundreds of people are expected to race around the city, solving clues and completing challenges in hopes of winning the ultimate prize: an all new 2012 Chevy Sonic Sedan 2LT.
Chevrolet has teamed up with Google-backed SCVNGR, a mobile gaming company, to create the Chevy Sonic Adventure. By developing a series of fun, location-based challenges, these mobile treasure hunts give lucky residents in 27 cities around the country the chance to become winners. And the Select Heartland Chevy Dealers have brought this one-day, real world treasure hunt straight to Minneapolis.
Making this partnership happen is Agency 720. “We are always striving to bring Chevy and Chevy dealers relevant and exciting programs. To bring these two companies together has been truly thrilling,” said Harold Kobakof, CEO of Agency 720.
On October 22nd, participants will follow clues from their cell phones via text message or SCVNGR app for iPhone and Android throughout downtown for the chance to win an all new 2012 Chevy Sonic Sedan 2LT.
“SCVNGR is all about having fun, so we’re psyched to be involved in this awesome event,” said Seth Priebatsch, Chief Ninja of SCVNGR. “Chevy has built challenges that are super social and designed to get people buzzing about the new Chevy Sonic. Let the games begin!”
As if that was not enough, event participants are also helping out a good cause by raising awareness for the American Cancer Society.
“Sonic is the most fun-to-drive car and it offers 40MPG highway,” said John Konkel, Director Sales Operations - Chevrolet.
For the chance to compete, locals can submit their stories to play for free at www.ChevySonicAdventure.com. For exclusive hints and more details, be sure to also become a fan on Facebook at facebook.com/MinneapolisChevySonicAdventure
