Everyone is invited to the 22nd annual Earth Day Celebration at the Harriet Alexander Nature Center (HANC) on Saturday, April 21, 2012. The event, presented by Half Price Books, with additional sponsorship by the Friends of Roseville's Harriet Alexander Nature Center (FORHANC), opens with a fundraising Pancake Breakfast (wild rice or blueberry pancakes, wild rice sausages and real maple syrup), 8:30-11:30 am. Free, informative exhibits, activities and entertainment start at 9:00 a.m. and run until 2:00. Our popular Walking Parade and Tree Planting, sponsored by Kinderberry Hill, starts around 2:15, ending with birthday cake for all in attendance.
In addition to the usual free stuff (reusable tote bags, for instance), you can enter for a chance at some great stuff like a compost bin or a rain barrel donated by the City of Roseville!

As usual, we’ll be collecting certain items for recycling. You can bring old eyeglasses (Lions), used printer cartridges (Cartridge World) and rigid plastic bottle caps to be recycled by Aveda. Please call us at the number below if you need further guidance on recycling the rigid (not squishy) plastic caps. We thank you to please not bring any other plastic items for recycling other than the rigid caps; unacceptable plastic items will be refused at the collection station.
