The Friends of Roseville's Parks (FOR Parks) is pleased to announce the featured speaker at their annual Fall Luncheon on Friday, September 28, 2012. Cathy Wurzer, currently the host of Morning Edition on Minnesota Public Radio and the Emmy Award-winning co-host of Almanac, a weekly public affairs television program focusing on regional issues, Wurzer will share stories from her best selling book and public television documentary, Tales of the Road: Highway 61. This historical travelogue chronicles Minnesota's most scenic north-south byway. She'll have copies of her evocative book for sale and signing.
The Fall Luncheon, with social hour (cash bar), delicious lunch and speaker, will be held at the Town and Country Club, along the Mississippi River, located at 300 Mississippi River Blvd. N., in St. Paul. In honor of Wurzer's book, the luncheon committee is planning a Minnesota menu and decor. The public is warmly invited to join us at this event. Reservations are required, with a cost of $30 per person, and must be received no later than Friday, September 21 at the Roseville Parks and Recreation Dept. All net proceeds will go toward improvements in Roseville's parks. For more information and a downloadable copy of the reservation form, please visit our website, http://FriendsofRosevilleParks.org, or contact Roseville Parks and Recreation, (651) 792-7006.
