The Concordia Percussion Ensemble and Marimba Choir from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., announce a spring tour Feb. 14-17. They will perform at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at Roseville Lutheran Church, 1215 W. Roselawn Ave., Roseville, Minn. One of the performers is Heather Campbell, a 2012 graduate of Roseville Area HighSchool. The concert will be open to the public; a freewill offering will be accepted. It is free to all students. The musicians in Concordia’s dynamic Percussion Ensemble have earned a reputation as one of the most outstanding percussion groups in the Upper Midwest. The ensemble has been featured several times on Minnesota Public Radio, been selected eight times to perform at the Minnesota Music Educators Convention, and has also appeared at the Music Educators National Convention. They perform a wide variety of works from standard percussion repertoire to new arrangements of popular, classical and folk music.
Dr. David P. Eyler, professor, directs both the Percussion Ensemble and the Marimba Choir and has served as Director of Percussion Studies since 1987. He earned his degrees from Louisiana State University, The Ohio State University and Frostburg State University, and attended the Peabody Conservatory of Music.
