It's the Lingerie Football League _ and Concordia U grad is A Rising Star
Whitney Meierotto a wide receiver for Minnesota Valkyrie.

It didn't take Whitney Meierotto of the Minnesota Valkyrie long to impress the LFL (Lingerie Football League) world.
With just under 10 minutes left in the first half of her first game, Whitney ran in a touchdown after going in motion from her wide receiver spot.
That was just the start of many more impressive athletic plays from the ex-collegiate volleyball player.

The best play of the night for the Valkyrie belonged to Whitney in a long bomb, and one handed catch, with just seconds left in the half. She had to battle the ball away from the Green Bay Chill defender while being drug to the ground.
Meierotto without a doubt is a rising star in this league, so I figured I would do a quick Q&A, to find out what’s behind the curly hair.

Roseville Patch: What is your athletic past?
WM: I played volleyball collegiately at Concordia University in St. Paul.
Roseville Patch: What made you want to play in the LFL? –
WM: I had an athletic past, loved being on a team and this is a great opportunity to be on a team and be competitive now that I am out of college.
Do you have any pre-game routines or superstitions? –
WM: In college, I would get teased from teammates for always having to have my hair in just the right way. I plan on continuing this as much as possible in the LFL even though long hair can be used by opponents to tackle a player.
Patch: What NFL player you are most like? –
WM: Greg Jennings is who I would most compare myself too. Both of us are game changing receivers, and we both have great hands. Growing up a Green Bay Packer fan, I still call Greg Jennings “my boy. But never fear Minnesota fans I am in all purple now.
Patch: You made some great plays in the first game of the year against the Green Bay Chill; now after getting the first game jitters out of the way, do you think you will be able to play even better against the Los Angeles Temptation this Friday?
WM: I have been focusing a lot on improving myself as well as pushing my teammates. We need each other out there. I could go out there and make a bunch of big plays but that could get us nowhere. We are a team and are going to make plays together! We have been practicing very hard these past couple of weeks, so we should all be stepping up our game for when LA comes to town in a week.
Meierotto and the Minnesota Valkyrie face off against the two time, defending LFL champions, Los Angeles Temptation this Friday night at the Target Center.
Game starts at 9:00 PM.
Tickets will be available at the door.
