Local Squads Compete In Postseason
Roseville and Concordia baseball teams both claim opening-round sectional wins over higher-ranked opponents.

Several squads from Roseville High School and Concordia Academy either began or continued their postseasons last week with sectional playoff competition, with the spring campaign coming to a close for a few local clubs.
Roseville Baseball: Raiders Blank Polars In 4AAA Opener
The No. 9 seed Roseville baseball team advanced to the second round of Section 4AAA competition with a 9-0 win at eighth-seeded North St. Paul last Thursday.

Individual statistics were not available from the game. The victory improved the Raiders to 12-10, guaranteeing coach Ryan Flanigan's club an above .500 record for the spring.
Roseville takes on Section 4AAA's top seed, Hill-Murray, at Midway Stadium in St. Paul at noon Tuesday, with the victor moving on to double-elimination play at Midway at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Roseville Softball: Raiders Bow Out In Opening Round Of Sectional
The Roseville softball team, seeded ninth in the Section 4AAA Tournament, was eliminated from the postseason in the first round of the playoffs with a 2-1 loss at No. 8 seed White Bear Lake on May 23.
Individual statistics from the game were not available. Erika Allen led the Raiders with a .359 batting average this season and Maria Ascher paced the team with seven runs scored.
Pitchers Aryka Knoche and Emma Hylen each recorded two wins apiece, with Hylen leading the squad with 40 strikeouts in 50 1/3 innings of work.
The Raiders' spring season came to a close with a 4-13 record.
Roseville Boys Lacrosse: Woodbury Eliminates Raiders In Section 5
A 6-5 loss at Suburban East Conference rival Woodbury in the Section 5 Tournament opener concluded the spring season for the Roseville boys lacrosse team last Wednesday.
Individual statistics from the game were not available. Roseville closed out the season with a 4-9 record after going 2-11 in 2010.
Brian Hughes led the Raiders with 12 goals in the regular season. John Martin, Evan Dowma and Spencer Wenzel each chipped in seven goals apiece in pre-playoff contests.
Roseville Girls Golf: Raiders Fifth At Conference Tournament
The Roseville girls golf team tallied a full-squad score of 381 to finish fifth at the Suburban East Conference Tournament held at Oak Glen Golf Course last Thursday. Individual statistics were not available.
Concordia Baseball: Beacons Win 4AA Opener
A 9-5 win over eighth-seeded DeLaSalle on Saturday in the Section 4AA baseball opener advanced No. 9 seed Concordia Academy into a second-round matchup against Tri-Metro Conference foe and top-seeded Minnehaha Academy.
Beacons pitcher Dan Hartman hurled a six-hit, complete game at the Islanders at Parade Stadium in Minneapolis, while striking out four.
Hartman also went 3-for-4 at the plate, as did Miguel Hernandez.
Concordia, now 8-9 on the year, takes on Minnehaha at 4 p.m. Tuesday on the Redhawks' home field at Fort Snelling.
Concordia Boys Golf: Beacons Ninth In Tri-Metro Tourney
The Concordia Academy boys golf team recorded a 359 to finish ninth in the Tri-Metro Conference Tournament at River Oaks Golf Course last Thursday. Individual statistics were not available.
