Rosedale Square Gets A Variance For Parking Lot Project

Night-time work slated sometime between June 20-30.

Expect all-night work on the Rosedale Square Shopping Center parking lot starting June 20 after the Roseville City Council this week approved a variance for extended construction activity at the retail center.

Minnetonka-based Welsh Companies requested the variance, which allows crews to put on an asphalt overlay on part of the parking lot between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. some time between June 20 and June 30. The work is expected to be completed with in a couple days, weather permitting, according to a city staff report.

The variance clears the way for construction to take place outside of retail hours at Rosedale Square, which is located at 1601-1675 County Road C.

"Avoiding heavy construction activities during the hours that the shopping center is open will reduce the  inconvenience to the public and maintain a safe passage in and out of the shopping center parking lot,"  Don Munson, Roseville permits coordinator, said in the city staff report.

Munson told Council members that city staff had received no complaints about the proposed night-time construction.
