Rosetown Legion Baseball Prepares For Big Week
The American Legion baseball team is scheduled to play seven games this week, including a weekend tournament.

The Rosetown American Legion baseball team from Roseville will resume its season at 6 p.m. today (Monday) against Hamline Purple at Cretin-Derham Hall.
Rosetown has not played since losing a pair of games on Sunday, June 12—the team fell 7-4 to Tri-City Red and 5-4 to White Bear Orange.
Its past two scheduled games against North St. Paul on June 13 and Hamline Red on June 14 were postponed.

In Rosetown’s last game against White Bear Orange, the Legion took a 1-0 lead in the second inning but allowed three runs in the bottom of the second to fall behind. After taking a 4-3 lead in the top of the third, White Bear Orange tied the game with a single run in the bottom of the third, then scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth to win 5-4.
Rosetown’s Sam Podobinski led the way by going 4-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Zach Hayes went 2-for-3, and Austin Colvard, Eden Cranston, Charlie Pelzer, Cory Strecker and Brian Tschida each had a hit.

Hayes took the loss on the mound, going six innings and allowing nine hits and five earned runs. He walked two and struck out two.
The Legion is 1-3 overall this summer.
Rosetown has seven games scheduled this week, including a tournament at Mendota Heights over the weekend. The game schedule is listed below:
