Roseville Area Doubles Team Stays Alive At State

Roseville team of Hayes and Poss loses, then wins in doubles at girls state tennis meet

Roseville High School's Carly Hayes and Jacqlyn Poss lost in the first round, but rallied for a win in their second match to stay alive in the consolation round of the Class AA girls state tennis tournament Thursday in the University of Minnesota Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis.

Hayes and Poss fell to Meredith Lawrence and Morgan Morrison of Visitation 4-6, 2-6 in the first round Thursday morning. In consolation play, Hayes and Poss scored a 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 victory over Camilie Kraljic and Catherine O’Connell of Elk River Thursday afternoon.

The Roseville team was scheduled to play this moring (Friday) in the consolation semifinals against Lakeville South’s Shelby Henderson and Erika Williams. A win in that match would move the team into the consolation finals.
