Roseville Area's Matthew Ties For 10th At State Golf

The Raiders' senior shot a 149 at the Class AAA state tournament

Roseville Area senior Sam Matthew finished up the Class AAA state boys golf meet tied for 10th overall at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids.

Matthew finished the two-day tournament with a 149, good for a tie for 10th with four other golfers. The University of North Dakota recruit began the day after shooting a 73 during Tuesday’s first round. He followed it up with a 76 on Wednesday.

Matthew shot a 38 on both the East nine and West nine during the second round.

Forest Lake’s Max Kelly finished as the individual state champion with a round of 143.

In the team competition, Wayzata and Rogers finished tied for the state championship. Wayzata shot a 291 on the final day to tie Rogers with a 592 overall score.
