Roseville’s commitment to energy efficiency is paying off. Not only is the city seeing significant reduction in energy usage, which means financial savings, the city is also being recognized for its efforts.

On April 14, the City of Roseville was honored by the State of Minnesota’s Best of Buildings, Benchmarks, and Beyond (B3) Benchmarking for a Local Government.

Roseville was recognized for decreasing energy usage by 26 percent from its 2018 baseline. Roseville was able to see such a decrease in energy usage by adding energy efficiency to the city’s new park buildings.

The State of Minnesota is leading the nation in requiring 80% more energy efficient State buildings in an effort to have all State construction carbon neutral by 2030. Designed to increase energy efficiency and sustainability, B3 programs were developed for and are required on State-funded projects in Minnesota. Each year the State recognizes improvements made across the state to improve energy efficiency.
