Roseville City Council Tidbits
Some actions taken, other items tabled until later.

Besides continuing its discussion this week on t that would cut municipal spending by about 3.8 percent, the Roseville City Council also had a number of other items on its agenda. Here are a few of the other tidbits from the council's agenda from last Monday night:
- The council and chairman of the Human Rights Commission interviewed four candidates for two vacancies on the commission. They were Judi Kaper, Kristen Doneen, Brandy Fountain and Wayne Groff. The council expects to make appointments next month.
- The council tabled a proposal for an assisted living facility at 621-637 Larpenteur Ave. Some members felt that given the current code, the project may be too large; they were also concerned about its design, citing a lack of outdoor green space for residents.
- The Housing and Redevelopment Authority met with the Council for its annual joint meeting. The HRA presented its 2011 accomplishments, including researching how intergenerational housing would benefit the community and the completion of a Green Remodeling Plan Book.
- The council postponed initiating an abatement at 1205 Sandhurst Drive. The property is bank owned, and the bank has requested time to do its own repairs at the property whose garage, among other things, is in disrepair. If the bank fails to repair the property 30 days from the time it was notified, the city said it then intends to take steps to clean up and repair the property. Any clean up costs would be charged to the property owner.
