Roseville Council Briefing: Bob Willmus Named 'Acting Mayor' as Back-Up To Dan Roe
Mayor Roe selected emergency management directors for Roseville.

The Roseville City CouncilΒ on Monday night named Bob Willmus as the βacting mayorβ for 2012. Should mayor Dan Roe resign or not be able to fulfill his duties, Willmus will become mayor until Roeβs successor can be chosen.
The Council's action came at its first meeting of 2012 in handling a number of organizational matters for the current year. Roeβs term in office runs through 2014.
Willmus is a St. Cloud State University graduate working in commercial and residential property development. His great-grandfather Matt Willmus served on the Rose Township board in the early 1900s and his grandfather Ed Willmus served on the Village Board in the early 1950s.
Meanwhile, here is a round up of some other items that came up at this week's Council meeting:
- Roe named Fire Battalion Chiefs Greg Peterson and David Brosnahan as directors of emergency management.
- The city approved a permanent pathway easement and a temporary construction easement for a portion of property located at 1595 Highway 36 and authorized payment of $18,200 for the easements.
- The Council unanimously agreed to renew the contract between the city and the Housing Redevelopment Authority.
- The city designated the Roseville Review the official newspaper for 2012.
- The Council discussed and adopted its rules and procedures.
