Roseville Council Briefing: Lawmakers Bail on Meeting
The Council renewed 79 liquor licenses.

Here is a round up of some items that came up at this week's Roseville City Council meeting.
- Discussion and voting was postponed on utility rate adjustments and the 2012 tax levy. Dozens of Roseville residents spoke during the public comment portion of the meeting, and Mayor Dan Roe decided to delay the discussion and voting until the Dec. 12 meeting.
- The city's state Sen. John Marty and House representatives Mindy Greiling and Bev Scalze were scheduled to visit the Councilβs meeting to hear its legislative concerns. The trio showed up for the meeting but left a little after 7 p.m. when it became clear that the public hearing on utility fees and the 2012 budget would go long. Marty, Greiling and Scalze said they would try to reschedule for some time in January. At the Councilβs Nov. 28 meeting, members said they hoped to discuss transit and the local area sales tax with the lawmakers.
- The Council granted the renewal of 79 liquor licenses for Roseville businesses in six categories. A decision on renewing liquor licenses for Smashburger and Courtyard of Marriott was targeted for additional scrutiny. A decision will be made at the Dec. 12 meeting.
- A new set of exterior drawings of the Roseville Fire Department was presented to the Council.
