At Meeting Tonight, Roseville Council To Consider Water Rate Increases for 2013
The city staff is recommending the Council continue the community's conservation-based water rates.

The Roseville Council is expected tonight (Monday, Jan. 28) to consider a city staff recommendation to increase water rates for 2013.
Some Council members last month expressed interest in adopting more uniform water useage rates in place of water conservation-based rates, City Manager Billl Malinen said.
Currently, however, the city isn't in a position to do all the additional things that would be needed to make that happen, he said. That would include implementing lawn sprinkling regulations such as odd/even day restrictions and monthly water and sewer billing, Malinen said.

As a result, Malinen is recommending the Council continue the city's existing water-conservation rate structure and adjust quarterly fees to cover increased costs, Malinen said in a staff report. He noted Rosevile has increaed wholesale water purchasing costs from the St. Paul Water utility.
