Roseville Enjoys Success at SEC Conference Track and Field Finals

Boys Capture 2nd in team standings, Girls 3rd

Roseville High School's Boys and Girl's Track and Field teams enjoyed a successful outing Friday at the SEC Conference Finals at host East Ridge High School.  The boys team lead by relay team and long jump performance finished a team second, edged out only by Stillwater.  The girls team placed  third behind Moundsview and Stillwater, respectively.  The top four finishers in each event will advance to the sectional tournament  to be held next week.  Among the Raider highlights:

  • The Boys relay team featuring Same Toso, Jason Holt, Tony Joyner and Matt Carlson captured first  in the 4 x 800 meter race.
  • Eleventh grader Velania Pierce won first in the girls 100 meter dash.
  • The team consisting of Emily Erdman, Ellie Wilson, Namsy Sekenwa and Ashani Price finished first in the 2 x 200 Relay.
  • Tenth grader Sammy Nielsen won first in the girl's 1600 meter contest
  • Megan Stuart won the girl's Triple Jump with a 35'-02" showing.
  • DeAndre Smith and Justin Admas finished first and second, respectively in the Boys High Jump.
