Roseville Girls Cross Country Team Places Fifth at State Meet
Top Roseville runner places 22nd.
The Roseville Raiders girls cross country team had two finishers in the top 25 and took fifth overall as a team at the Class AA state meet on Saturday.
Roseville junior Allison Cordes finished 22nd with a time of 15 minutes, 13.7 seconds. Sammy Nielson, also a junior, finished a place behind her at 15:15.2 for the Raiders.
Sophomore Caroline Brisbois came at 36th for the silver-and-black at 15:28.4. Naomi Boehm, Lindsay Lee, Anna Nelson and Robyn Holmes rounded out the finishes for the Raiders to earn fifth place as a team.
The Raiders earned a total of 184 points, 16 out of fourth place behind Shakopee.
Mary Schifsky, the Raiders' girls cross country head coach, was excited at Roseville's fifth place finish.

"All seven girls went out there and truly raced which is why we did so well," Schifsky told Roseville Patch. "We far exceeded what people thought we would do especially since we were not ranked all season until after our first place upset against East Ridge at Sections.
"After Sections, they ranked us as seventh," she said. "Again, we are super excited and proud of our girls and how they did."
