Roseville School Board Won't Seek Referendum This Year
Superintendent says operating revenue sufficient until 2013.

The Roseville Area School District should not conduct a levy referendum this fall, school board members agreed at a planning session Tuesday.
Superintendent John Thein has recommended the board wait until the fall of 2013 – when the current levy expires – to even consider recommending another.
“The most we could raise in a referendum this fall would be $315, 000,” he said, adding that the amount would be insufficient to make a major difference in district operations.

“Our citizens have always supported us when we asked them for help,” he said, adding that the district needs to be cautious when asking for help again. “If you strike out once [fail to pass a referendum], the chances you will strike out again dramatically increase.”
“Our enrollment is holding steady; our fund balance will take us through until 2013,” Thein added.
