Roseville: A Taste of Leisure, Dining And History

Roseville is a place like no other. And whether you grew up here, recently moved to the area or you’re just an occasional visitor, you know that Roseville has its own special traditions and history that make it so unique.

A few things to know:

  • Roseville is home to the largest mall in Minnesota! The Rosedale Center has over 160 stores, a movie theater and a variety of dining options. It's the perfect destination for a day of shopping, entertainment and dining.
  • Roseville is a hub for outdoor recreation, with numerous parks, trails and lakes in the area. One hidden gem is the Harriet Alexander Nature Center, a 52-acre nature preserve with trails, gardens and educational exhibits. It's the perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and connect with nature.
  • Roseville is home to the John Rose Oval, a premier ice skating facility that has hosted national and international speed skating competitions. The Oval features two indoor rinks and a 400-meter outdoor speed skating track, as well as public skating sessions and skating lessons.
  • If you're a fan of craft beer, you'll want to check out Bent Brewstillery in Roseville. This unique brewery/distillery combo produces a variety of creative and delicious beers and spirits, including the popular Nordic Blonde ale.
  • Roseville is also home to a vibrant arts scene, with several galleries and arts organizations in the area. The Roseville Area Arts Council hosts events throughout the year, including the annual Roseville Art Fair, which showcases the work of local artists.
  • Did you know that one of the first Target stores was located in Roseville? The store, which opened in 1962, is still in operation today and features a museum-like display of vintage Target merchandise.
  • If you're a fan of nature, you won't want to miss the Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve. This beautiful park features miles of hiking and biking trails, as well as opportunities for fishing, boating and bird watching.
  • Did you know that Roseville has its own symphony orchestra? The Roseville String Ensemble is made up of local musicians who perform classical and contemporary music at various events and venues throughout the year.
  • If you're looking for a unique shopping experience, head to the Roseville Farmers Market. This outdoor market features a variety of locally grown produce, handmade crafts and other goods from vendors in the area.
  • Finally, did you know that Roseville is home to several historic buildings and landmarks? Be sure to take a walking tour of the landmarks in the area to learn more about Roseville's rich history.
  • Looking for a place to take your furry friend? Head to the Reservoir Woods Park in Roseville, which features a dog park with separate areas for large and small dogs. There are also hiking trails, a fishing pier and picnic shelters.
  • Roseville is also home to the beautiful Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, which features a variety of animals, gardens and exhibits. Visitors can see everything from polar bears and gorillas to orchids and bonsai trees. Plus, admission is free!
