In addition to creating the new Class 6A this season for the 32 most populous schools, the MSHSL has also altered the playoff structure for the class, meaning Lakeville North, the No. 2 seed in Section 3AAAAAA, will host Roseville, the No. 5 seed in Section 4AAAAAA, in a combined section matchup.

The Panthers (8-1), are scheduled to welcome Roseville at 7 p.m. Friday.

As for the combined sections for football, there was no change in the opening round as teams battled section foes; however, beginning in the second round teams cross over and play an opponent from a predetermined other section. The highest remaining seed from one section faces the lowest seeded team from the other, and the second seed in one section playing the second lowest seed from another.

Besides the Lakeville North/Roseville tilt in round two, Woodbury is at Prior Lake, Eastview is at Mounds View and Rosemount is at Stillwater in the crossover games between sections three and four. The crossover games in Sections five and six are Blaine at Edina, Champlin Park at Wayzata, Minnetonka at Maple Grove and Eden Prairie at Osseo.

The winners will advance to the state quarterfinals Nov. 8 and 9 at the Metrodome.
