Sports Roundup: Beacons Football Improves to 2-1

Concordia Academy wins 43-34 at No. 10 Breck on Friday night.

The Concordia Academy football team pulled off a road upset on Friday, highlighting the mid-point week of the autumn sports season.

Behind four touchdown passes from Dan Hartman, three to Lorin Edmund, the Concordia football team won 43-34 at Breck—then ranked No. 10 in Class AAA—to improve to 2-1 on the year.

Hartman also rushed for one score, with Jake Beasy running for 138 yards, Lorin receiving 15 yards and Hartman throwing for 219 yards in the victory.

The Roseville boys and girls cross-country teams both placed fourth at the Metro Invitational in Eden Prairie last Saturday.

Sam Elfstrom led the Raiders boys with a 10th-place run of 16 minutes 51.4 seconds, while Sammy Nielson (15:14.4) and Allison Cordes (15:21.2) took fifth and sixth, respectively for the RAHS girls.

Raiders Girls Soccer

A 2-0 loss to Mounds View last Tuesday in its lone game of the week dropped the Roseville girls soccer team to 1-7 this season. 

Chloe Boehm and Rachel Berkas were tied for the team lead with two goals apiece heading into this week.

Beacons Girls Soccer

The Concordia girls soccer team evened its record at 4-4 with wins over Mounds Park Academy (3-0) and St. Paul Como Park (3-1) sandwiching a loss to Breck (1-0) last week. Individual statistics were not made available.

Raiders Boys Soccer

A 0-0 tie to Mounds View followed by a 4-0 loss to Prairie Seeds Academy last week dropped the Roseville boys soccer team to 3-3-2 on the season.

Elvis Barclay leads the Raiders with nine goals, while Daniel Zalk, Max Brasch and Mishiah Toe are tied for the team high with three assists each.

Beacons Boys Soccer

A 2-1 defeat of Mounds Park Academy combined with a 3-0 loss to Breck gave the Concordia boys soccer team a 2-5-1 record entering this week. Individual statistics were not made available.

Raiders Volleyball

The Roseville volleyball team topped Hastings (3-1) and White Bear Lake (3-0) last week and swept its four matches in the North Branch Tournament last Saturday to improve to 7-3 heading into the week. Individual statistics were not made available.

Beacons Volleyball

A three-game win versus Blake and a four-game victory at St. Paul Academy gave the Concordia volleyball team a 4-4 record heading into this week. Individual statistics were not made available.

Raiders Girls Tennis

The Roseville girls tennis team went 2-1 at the Coon Rapids Invitational on Saturday, defeating White Bear Lake and Coon Rapids while losing to Wayzata, to enter this week with an 8-9 record. Individual statistics were not made available.
