St. Paul Police Arrest 3 in Pistol-Whipping Home Invasion Case

Metro Transit Police arrested three men this afternoon who may have been involved in the and residents were terrorized, said public relations manager John Siqveland.

The three men were transferred into Roseville Police custody, Siqveland said.

The three men were recognized by police on the St. Paul streets and by security guards at a station in the Allied Bank building at Fifth and Cedar streets, and were arrested in a downtown St. Paul skyway, according to the Pioneer Press.

During the Roseville robbery, at a group home at 2809 Lexington Avenue North, an employee who couldn’t produce cash or drugs was pistol-whipped several times to the head, police said. The assailants proceeded to ransack the home for the next 15 minutes, ripping phone lines from walls, confiscating cell phones, stealing cash and warning residents not to call the police.

Roseville police Lt. Lorne Rosand said that on Dec. 29 a woman was arrested who police believed to have accompanied the three assailants to a convenience store to withdraw cash with a stolen ATM card.

Rosand identified the woman as Renesha Irma Princella Motten, 20, of St. Paul. She was arrested, booked and released without being charged with a crime.

In Lexington, MN, police are looking for four men who broke into a house and pistol-whipped a person inside, nine miles north of the Roseville group home, according to CBS Minnesota.

Rosand said that police did not yet know if the incident was related to the Roseville home invasion robbery.
