State Fair Will Host 'Unite in Purple' Night to Honor Prince
The evening of Aug. 26 at the Minnesota State Fair will be jam-packed with Prince-related activities.
Don't forget to wear purple if you're planning to attend the Minnesota State Fair on the evening of Aug. 26.
The night's events promise to "bring the community together to remember the life of a legend," referring to pop superstar and Minnesota native Prince Rogers Nelson, who died at the age of 57 in April.
The event's motto is "Unite. Come together. Wear purple."

The night will feature a number of activities celebrating the life of the iconic artist:
- Prince music, tributes and cover songs at stages throughout the fairgrounds
- Prince Party in the Park with music and dancing
- Lavender lighting on iconic fair buildings and carnival rides
- A Lasertainment's Laser Hitz show featuring a Prince finale
- Unite in Purple glow bracelets for the first 5,000 guests through the gates after 5 p.m.
- Unite in Purple buttons for the first 7,500 guests through the gates after 5 p.m.
The evening will conclude with a fireworks show featuring a special pyrotechnic Prince tribute set to Prince music.
