Taylor Thury Benefit - Taco & Nacho Bar, Silent Auction and much more

Taylor (originally from the Roseville
area) was a vibrant 19 year old continuing on her path in nursing school at
Lake Superior College. This past year was to be one of the best years in
Taylor’s life. Soon after Taylor accepted an engagement proposal from her
boyfriend Joey they announced they were expecting a daughter, baby Melody
arrived in August.  This young couple was
on their way to start their family and life together when everything came to a
complete stop.

On November 27th, 2013
Taylor was admitted to the hospital with severe stomach pain, after series of
tests they concluded she would need emergency surgery to remove her gall
bladder.

As Taylor prepared for surgery the
doctors delivered the news that she had been diagnosed with Leukemia.
Immediately following the surgery Taylor received her port and began aggressive
daily chemotherapy treatments.   Taylor
quickly became very ill having allergic reaction to the drugs used; with a new
treatment plan in place the new chemo still left Taylor very sick and run
down.  A Few weeks into the new treatment
her port got infected and had another surgery to remove it. Due to these
multiple complications Taylor was hospitalized most of December and into
January undergoing spinal tap testing, steroidal treatments and painful bone
marrow testing. Taylor was finally released to go home in January though it was
short lived, she was rushed back to the ER where they determined Taylor
suffered a mild stroke from an allergic reaction to medication from the spinal
taps. Even with these setbacks this vibrant young mother is more than ever
determined to keep fighting.  As of today
Taylor’s received a new port and is moving forward in a new (third) treatment
plan. Though she has a long tough road ahead of her she continues to be in good
spirits and continues her fight.
