State officials reported a $1.4 billion projected budget surplus Friday morning. Minnesota’s budget and economic outlook remains stable, despite continued slow economic growth, according to the Minnesota Management and Budget.

Lower forecast revenue projections were partially offset by reduced spending estimates, according to a news release.

The current budget cycle is expected to end in June with a balance of $678 million that went unspent.
