Just in time for the 2017 Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournaments. Girls' and boy's box scores and records dating back to 1945.

No parking, no tickets, no late nights, no lines and no snow storms. John Vosejpka, former Athletic Administrator for Saint Paul Public Schools and historian, has created the unthinkable. Until now, no site or source provided comprehensive listing of individual and team records with box scores containing scoring, goal times, penalties, shots, goalies, saves, officials, site, time and attendance for boys and girls since their inception.
State Hockey High School Enthusiasts Will Feel As If They’ve Attended Every Game
Since his retirement in 2015, John put pencil to paper collecting statistics dating back to 1945 for the boys followed by 1995 for the girls. While volunteering his time managing the all sports community based website https://saintpaulsports.org, John conceptualized his dream to be the first in history to capture, document and disseminate all Minnesota High School Hockey Tournament box scores.

When asked how he came up with “Results, Records and Rarities” for the name of this historical phenomenon, John said: “I wanted an identity that gave credence to the content and sport.” From there the rrr.hockey domain name was acquired to make it easier for fans to remember.

With a little imagination, vision and knowledge of the tournaments—you can begin your journey of reliving the games. Before you pick a specific year, think about the weeks before each tournament. Remember your game friends, the meals you may have had at Mancini’s, Cossetta’s, Digidio’s, Tom Reid’s and/or some other local restaurant, the purchase of your ticket, arrangement of transportation and all the energy surrounding these four intense days.
Now, imagine scurring by ticket hawkers and feeling elated that you planned ahead, proceeding through the gate and observing the hustle and bustle from every direction, maneuvering through the crowds to hit the restroom, then off to find your seat with an armful of refreshments. Now that you’re seated, you hear the sounds of high school bands playing popular game tunes, stories being told from fans all around you. The air is electrifying with excitement and anticipation spewing everywhere, the arena quickly filling up with fans, the teams warming up. There it is, the National Anthem to set the stage followed by the announcement of the starting line ups. As soon as the puck hits the ice, it’s game time!
You won’t find any narration on this site. It’s up to you to make your own accounts. Do familiarize yourself with a few statistics to feed your hockey intel. Afterall, the next round is right around the corner. To get a better feel for the build up before the games, I recommend that you watch this video “The Mardi Gras of Minnesota Hockey - Tradition of the State Tournament” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFI-QJUZHLE&t=5s. It will help put you in the frame of mind and spirit for making the games on this site come to life.
If you should happen to see John Vosejpka scoring a basketball game at a local high school or at the next Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament, give him praise. He donated his time not for fame, but for the love of the game.
Enjoy your journey and we’ll see you at the games!
