Accidents Mount Across State As Motorists Maneuver Snow, Ice
Due to slippery roads and limited visibility, the Minnesota State Patrol is advising against traveling in northwest Minnesota Tuesday.

As Minnesotans head back to work, hundreds of accidents are taking place across the state as motorists attempt to maneuver recent snow and ice accumulation. The Minnesota State Patrol saw 289 crashes and 227 vehicle spinout/off-road incidents between 5 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Of those crashes, 197 took place in the metro. None so far have been reported as fatal.
A total of 66 trucks went out at 2 a.m. in Hennepin County to clear snow from roads and to lay salt.

Due to slippery roads and limited visibility, troopers are advising against any travel in northwest Minnesota.
