MINNESOTA — Snowplows, police cruisers, boats, houses, and office equipment are all available for purchase from the state of Minnesota right now, and all you need is a free account to start bidding.
The state's Department of Administration runs MNBid.mn.gov, an official online auction platform where surplus government property is listed continuously throughout the year.
The site also hosts tax-forfeited land and home sales on behalf of Minnesota counties, making it a one-stop shop for government surplus that most residents don't know exists.
Online listings are open to any Minnesota resident. To bid, create a free account at MNBid.mn.gov and browse current listings by category.
Items are rated by condition and sorted by price, time remaining, or newest listings.
Current online listings include vehicles at various price points, heavy equipment topping $50,000, tools starting under $200, and miscellaneous items from state agencies.
The state also uses MNBid to list tax-forfeited properties, homes, and land that reverted to state ownership after owners failed to pay property taxes, on behalf of counties.
All items are sold as-is.
