ST. PAUL, MN — Polls closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Minnesota's Republican primary for governor, where five candidates are competing after a lengthy fight for the party's endorsement.

Army veteran and former health care executive Kendall Qualls won the GOP endorsement after 10 ballots at the state convention.

Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth, the runner-up for the endorsement, is still in the race.

My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell lost his own endorsement bid but stayed on the ballot.
