FALCON HEIGHTS, MN — The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office says it removed an offensive sticker from one of its vehicles after it was spotted at the Minnesota State Fair.

A photo shared on X showed the sticker, which read "He's a criminal not a hero" alongside an illustration that appeared to reference George Floyd, whose 2020 killing by a Minneapolis police officer sparked nationwide protests.

The sticker was first flagged in a post from a fairgoer, Steph Nicole, who asked why "this incredibly offensive sticker" was on a sheriff vehicle parked next to the department's stand at the fair.

The Hennepin Sheriff's official account responded on X, saying the sticker "was placed on our vehicle by a member of the public and immediately removed upon its discovery."

The Sheriff's Office did not provide further details.
