MINNESOTA — The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is now accepting entries for the design of the state's next state parks and trails license plate, with submissions open from Sept. 15 through Oct. 31.
Designs should celebrate Minnesota's North Shore and the Lake Superior agate, the state gemstone, according to the DNR.

After the submission period ends, a panel of judges will score entries on creativity, quality, how well they represent the theme and whether they work as a license plate image. Three finalists will move on to a public vote in early December, and the DNR will announce the winning design in mid-December.
The agency expects the new plate to go on sale in late January 2027.
