Officers were called to the 2700 block of 2nd Street North at about 12:43 a.m. on Nov. 1, police said. When they arrived, they located a 41-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman in a bedroom. Aside from the two adults and the child, no one else was in the home, according to police.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension helped process the scene, and the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office will perform the autopsies.

The department's statement did not identify the man and woman, say how they died, or describe what led to the assault report.

Police said there is no threat to the public. The incident remains under investigation, and the department said more information will be released as it becomes available.

Maplewood police, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the North St. Paul Fire Department and Lakeview Ambulance assisted at the scene, according to the department.
