ST. PAUL, MN — Polls have closed across Minnesota, and results are coming in for the statewide constitutional amendment on school funding.
The amendment asks voters whether the state constitution should be changed to increase the funding that goes to all school districts from the permanent school fund. According to the ballot question, the fund supports school districts without raising individual income or property taxes. If approved, the change would take effect July 1, 2027.

To pass, a constitutional amendment in Minnesota must be approved by a majority of all voters who cast a ballot in the election, not just a majority of those who vote on the question. Ballots that leave the question blank count the same as a no vote.
All results are unofficial until they are certified by the State Canvassing Board.
