Construction On I-94, I-35E Resumes Monday
Here are the closures you need to know about if you plan to travel through St. Paul any time now through the fall.

ST. PAUL, MN — The final leg of construction in the Interstate 94—Interstate 35E project in St. Paul began Monday.
Starting Monday, both directions of I-94 will be reduced to two lanes between Marion Street and Mounds Boulevard. Traffic will also be reduced to two lanes in both directions of I-35E between I-94 and University Avenue.
Ramps from 12th Street to southbound I-35E and to westbound I-94 will be closed through mid-May.

Starting Wednesday evening, these ramps will be closed until early June:
- Westbound I-94 to Marion Street
- Southbound I-35E to westbound I-94
- Note: Traffic will stay on I-35E until the commons area and then merge to westbound I-94
- Washington Street to westbound I-94/southbound I-35E
- Westbound I-94 to 12th Street
- Hospital traffic will follow a signed detour to Dale Street
The two-year project includes resurfacing ramps and frontage roads, upgrading storm sewers, bridge rehabilitation work, plus repairing sidewalks, and upgrading pedestrian sidewalks and approaches to follow Americans with Disability Act standards.

The estimated cost of the project is $27 million.
