Law enforcement officials are busy following a wintry mix that made ice rinks of roadways across the metro Monday night and early Tuesday morning. Side streets, freeway bridge decks and overpasses are especially icy.
The Minnesota State Patrol reports that between 12 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, state highways saw 92 crashes (16 injured, one serious, zero fatal) and 88 vehicle spin-out/off-road incidents.
Authorities remind motorists that slowing down, paying attention, and driving to conditions will help you arrive safely at your destination even in the nastiest of road conditions. Also remember to buckle-up.
