Leadership Team at Minnesota Connections Academy Participates in Annual Summer Retreat
Planning, strategizing, problem solving—preparing for a great 2017-18 school year for online public school students and their families.

While summer is certainly a chance for educators to take some much needed time off, it is also the time of year when real planning, strategizing, thinking, and problem solving gets done. As such, the leadership team from the K-12 online public school Minnesota Connections Academy recently gathered in Baltimore with colleagues from across the country for the school's annual summer retreat.
Principals, assistant principals, and heads of counseling and special education from Connections Academy's 32 virtual public schools in 26 states came together to revisit the past year, brainstorm what worked and what didn't, and gear up for the upcoming school year. The retreat included presentations, break-out sessions, activities and many informal conversations in an effort to improve student learning.
"The retreat is a special time to be with like-minded colleagues who are all committed to serving students and their families with a unique educational experience," said Melissa Gould, principal, Minnesota Connections Academy.
