Man Upset Over Homeless Camp Threatens To Hunt, Kill City Staffer

A Saint Paul man "declared war" on a city policy adviser after the city failed to remove a homeless encampment near his home.

SAINT PAUL, MN — A Saint Paul man is facing charges after he threatened to hunt down and kill a city staffer because he was upset about a homeless encampment near his home, according to a report. Jeffrey Karl Weissbach, 62, is charged with making threats of violence, a felony if he’s convicted.

On July 10, Weissbach called City Hall to report a homeless encampment near the 300 block of Colborne Street, the Pioneer Press reported. A city policy adviser took the call and told Weissbach the information would be passed on to city staff who work with contractors responsible for cleaning up encampments.

The next day, Weissbach was upset the camp was still standing and called the employee 10 times throughout the day. In one voicemail, Weissbach said, “It’s all-out war and I will hunt you down and kill you like a dog,” according to the complaint.
