March For Science Minnesota Draws 10,000: Police

Police estimate that 10,000 people participated in the March for Science Minnesota in the Twin Cities Saturday.

SAINT PAUL, MN — Police estimate that 10,000 people participated in the March for Science Minnesota in Saint Paul Saturday. The March for Science Minnesota, which took place on Earth Day, began at the Cathedral Hill Park in Saint Paul at 11 a.m. The Rally at the Minnesota State Capitol began at 12 p.m.

Marchers were encouraged to wear blue and green. According to the event's Facebook page, the march drew "a coalition of Minnesotans from all professions and all walks of life, various non-profits, labor unions, and religious groups are marching on the state capitol to show support of higher education and the discovery, access, and understanding of scientific information."

"We are working to protect and defend science funding, regulatory agencies, and evidence based policy-making in recognition that science plays a vital role in the progress and sustainability of society." Lear more about the Minnesota March for Science here.
